C
Pavel Tarasyuk
Lead Guitar & Lead Vocals
A Ukrainian-born musician, playing guitar since the age of 12, Pavel trained himself to play guitar while in his childhood home. He performed across Russia and Ukraine with various bands for decades, saving himself from the effects of the fall of the U.S.S.R. He enjoyed bringing joy to others in the midst of cultural & political turmoil.
Upon becoming a proud American citizen, he played across worship teams and assisted other musicians in the arrangement of music, recording sessions, and more.
Now, after 40 years of music, he brings you Groove Hunters, a band that seeks out to perform the best music across the decades to provide joy, memories, and laughter to all audiences.

David Jarrett
Drums & Back Vocals
While using broken broomsticks to drum on a trash can as a young 11 year old, David's passion for drumming was born. His mother traded in that trash can for a drum kit, and David started his first backyard band. His high school marching band became his training ground and led to an Army career following high school. During his Army service, the weekends were filled with bar performances, and a song he sang for his wife led to a flourishing marriage of over 48 years. After a career in law enforcement, he began drumming again every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with his country band. Now, decades later, he has played with over 25 bands playing country, blues, R & B, classic rock, and worked alongside drumming greats such as Gary Whitesides. David's passion for drumming is evident in his award winning skills.

Gary Swank
Bass, Harmonica, & Vocals

Jenaraye Graham
Keyboard, Percussion & Vocals
When Gary picked up a Fender guitar at the age of 8, he discovered a love of music that would last his entire life. In college he studied music and began writing his own music while performing in rock bands in the 80's. His passion of music is surpassed only by his love of Christ. He served as a prison pastor and worship leader for over 20 years, guitarist/keyboardist in several worship teams, and continues serving currently in his church worship. He has been with Groove Hunters since 2020 and "music has provided me with a well of endless riches."
For Jenaraye, the language of music was learned early. At just six years old, cradling her first Martin guitar, she received a foundational piece of advice from her grandfather. He taught her three simple chords and told her she could write a lot of songs with them. Taking those words to heart, she did exactly that, beginning her path as a young performer and songwriter in schools and local events.
Her early talent did not go unnoticed. After winning several singing and songwriting contests, Jenaraye’s musical evolution became the subject of a television program that aired along the California coast. The show, filmed in Cambria, California, profiled her journey from a childhood prodigy to a seasoned artist and concluded with a live concert performance. Over the years, her music opened doors to unique audiences, including a performance for former President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan at the Coral Casino in Montecito, California.
Jenaraye’s career eventually led her into worship music, where she spent years as a worship singer and recorded a Christian album. However, a pivotal chapter of her life unfolded when she moved to the Los Angeles area. There, she lived and worked with industry heavyweights Michael Sembello (famed for the hit "Maniac" from Flashdance) and his wife, artist Cruz Baca Sembello (of Sergio Mendes & Brasil '77).
The Sembellos became profound mentors. To this day, Jenaraye affectionately refers to Cruz as "Mama Cruz." Under their guidance, she gained a strict work ethic and a deep understanding of the inner workings of the music industry. Living on a property that featured the historic former Seals and Crofts recording studio in the back, she spent years surrounded by renowned artists, major record labels, publishing companies, and top-tier engineers.
Beyond her 65 years of musical immersion, Jenaraye developed a diverse set of passions outside the studio. She became an avid tournament poker player and established herself as a Certified Firearms Instructor across all NRA divisions, as well as a DOJ/CCW (Concealed Carry Weapons) Instructor for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Through every season of life, she never stopped writing songs. Eventually, a desire to return to the stage led her to seek out a band to perform with once again. However, navigating the local music scene in the High Desert proved challenging. Unknown to the local community and naturally disinclined to boast about her extensive industry background, her offers to sing—even for free—went unanswered.
The emotional weight of that disconnect peaked one evening at a red light outside a bar called Better Days. Watching a popular local band laugh on the balcony during their set break, Jenaraye found herself in tears as the light turned green, recognizing just how deeply she missed the stage.
In a final attempt to connect, she reached out blindly, sending a text to Pavel, a member of a local band called the Groove Hunters. She asked if he knew of any bands in need of a backup vocalist. Pavel responded immediately, inviting her to meet the band at a gig in Wrightwood that very week.
That single message bridged the gap between Jenaraye's storied past and her musical present, opening the door to a brand-new chapter of performance in the High Desert.
